Directional
Traffic safety radar gun
The GVP
DIRECTIONAL gives the operator the option to
easily select and focus on vehicles going away from or
coming toward him/her from a single, stationary patrol
position. Unlike previous handguns,
the operator can selectively monitor traffic coming
toward, moving away, or both directions simultaneously!
When in "directional" mode, vehicles moving toward you
are indicated with a "t," vehicles moving away
from you with an "A." Directionality dramatically
enhances the target selection process. If the radar is
set to "towards" mode, it will only track vehicles
coming towards the radar. All vehicles going "away" are
ignored!! In heavy traffic situations, the operator can
choose to make traffic moving in one direction
"invisible" to the radar, thereby concentrating on the
most problematic lane.

The face panel includes a 3-digit speed display and
three buttons: menu, select, and power. Using the "menu"
and "select" buttons you can control display
backlighting, , sensititity (distance range), on / off,
speed range / display settings, MPH / KPH units, serial
communication output mode, and speed hold time.

Hand-held moving/stationary (right) and stationary
only (left) X-Band Radar, Has dual LCD displays for reading
locked target and actual target speeds (stationary model)
and patrol and target speeds (moving model). This unit
has a Internal Circuit Test switch / Segment test switch,
range control, audio and squelch control. It has error
messages for RFI and Low Voltage. The handle trigger
switch is used for locking in speed readings and RF hold to
defeat radar detectors. This radar will read the speed
of a vehicle traveling toward or away from the radar in
stationary mode, and toward the radar in moving mode.
